You’ve got Questions. We’ve Got Answers.

Is Theos Seminary Accredited?

Like many independent Bible Colleges we offer a degree under religious exemption in the State of Texas. We are not regionally accredited. This is reflected in our degree program. We have zero Gen-Eds. Our degree program is specifically designed for students who want to prepare for ministry. We don’t think you should graduate with a mountain of debt or take courses that are irrelevant to your calling.

The bottom line: We aren’t regionally accredited. We are exempt from accreditation in TX under religious exemption: churches are allowed to train their own clergy (that's how this whole education thing began). We offer real degrees. We are highly academic. Our M.Th program will be taught by graduate and doctored professors; the Ph.D program will have German as a requirement and the dissertations are overseen by other Ph.D's.

We are currently negotiating select articulation agreements with schools who have the same theological vision as us if students want to do other things. Our school is primarily for students who want to be trained in historic Christian theology and thought for ministry purposes.

Does Theos Seminary have “Semesters”?

Theos Seminary has a rolling admission process. (it never closes) and no semesters. There are no semesters or traditional academic timelines. Students choose from subscription payment options and work completely at their own pace.

[Pro Tip: This degree model requires self-discipline. Naturally, students who work through the course material will pay less for their education.]

What’s The Workload Like?

It’s college level, academic and depends on how many courses you take. A typical course has lecture hours, assignments & essays, exams & student interaction.

How Much Homework Is Typical?

Both programs have a concentration on student writing. Students can expect to work through written assignments requiring a robust interaction with reading and lectures. Students are expected to conduct research in order to fulfill the writing requirements for each assignment.

Ultimately it comes down to knowing your own capacity and what you are capable of accomplishing. Many of our students succeed in having a full-time job in addition to their course workload.

How Does The Pricing Work?

  • Theos Bachelor’s Students can pay $99 per month or $999 per year.

  • Theos Master’s Students can pay $247 per month or a one time fee of $5000.

These fees give you access to all course content and a student portal for evaluation and student life.

How Can You Call It A Bachelors Degree If It’s Not Regionally Accredited?

The State of Texas (and many other states) believe that ministries should be allowed to train their own clergy, granting up to a Doctorate. The first universities in America were Seminaries, the first universities in the world were Christian and planted by the church. We see our program as a return to education as it was intended. Because we believe that our program should look the way it looks in terms of classes and content, we will never be “regionally accredited”. For us, it’s a matter of Philosophy.

Can I Transfer Into TheosSeminary?

Yes. Any credits that you have taken outside of our program that are equivalent can be transferred in. Official transcripts can be submitted in the admissions process.

What Degree Programs Does TheosSeminary Offer?

TheosSeminary offers two degree programs:

Is There An Academic Community?

Students are sorted into 4 Student Houses which interact on the Clubhouse Platform. Theos Night is a weekly lecture via Zoom where students interact with professors and other students.

How Quickly Can I Study?

If you don’t sleep for a week and drink a keg of cold drip, you could potentially finish all your lectures and homework for a course or two. We don’t recommend it—but there may be people who have lots of time on their hands in particular stretches and want to get ahead. That’s totally fine. Work at your own pace & accomplish as much as you would like in that time.

When Will Admissions Be Closing?

Never. Students who apply and are accepted to any of our programs can start their degree immediately. We don’t do semesters, so our admissions will always be open.
